Meet Your Therapist
In both private practice and as a school psychologist, Chad has worked with children and adolescents (Grades K-12) and adult students with various needs, such as learning disorders and giftedness, addictions, depression, anxiety, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Conduct Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Obsessional Compulsive Disorder (OCD), social phobias, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), family conflict and grief and loss, both individually and in small groups. Chad also performs academic, behavioral and cognitive psycho-educational assessments to better assist students with their learning needs.
Chad has an extensive background and understanding of child and adolescent development. Over 25 years of working with children and adolescents along with his teaching experiences have allowed him to work with children with diverse needs, including Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), anxiety, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, and family issues such as divorce.
Since completing his Master in Arts in Counselling Psychology Degree, Chad has had the opportunity to provide therapy to individuals and families in a variety of settings. For example, at the Fort Saskatchewan Correctional Facility, he counselled inmates with severe mental illnesses including Schizophrenia, Antisocial and Borderline Personality Disorders and Bipolar Disorder. Chad has also worked in conjunction with NorQuest College to instruct courses in Personal Resilience for Disaster Recovery wherein participants take part in activities designed to grown their understanding and build their personal preparedness to volunteer in disaster recovery efforts. Because of the potentially traumatic nature of the events in which these volunteers are involved, this program helps to develop a bank of skills to cope effectively with the situation. Chad is also a regular contributor to the Experts Page in the St. Albert Gazette.
Chad is also working in private practice counselling families and individuals of all ages.
